Inverters
The inverter is the most important component in managing the energy production from the panels as well as the distribution of power between the property, grid and batteries if supplied. As such the inverter needs to be of high quality.
Queanbeyan Solar installs the Fronius range of inverters for most of our clients. The Fronius inverter is manufactured in Austria at the Fronius main manufacturing plant at Wels, a 100,000 square meter facility where products for all three divisions are manufactured including welding products, battery charging and solar inverters.
Battery System Inverters
Battery systems have now become available in the Australian market. Each type of battery system uses a hybrid inverter that manages the production of power through the panels, the grid and the batteries. Associated with this hybrid inverter is the Battery Management Unit. Queanbeyan Solar currently supplies the Opal Battery Storage System, which features the SolaX Hybrid 5000 TL-SK inverter and a SolaX 5000 Battery Management Unit. Both these products are manufactured in China, and are currently the most widely used inverters for this purpose. The Opal Battery Storage System also features the LG Chem battery.
Fronius currently offer a three phase hybrid inverter and will shortly be introducing a single phase hybrid inverter. Fronius is working with battery manufacturers to ensure their hybrid inverters are compatible with a range of batteries including the LG Chem batteries.
Other inverters
In some cases following discussions with our clients other inverters are also installed for example SMA and Solar Edge, with Enphase micro inverters or Tigo optimisers used when shading is an issue.
